A Note From The Owner:
I am so thrilled to share Buttercup's with you! This property is so special to my family. My grandfather and his friends built this place together from the ground up! When I was younger, I nicknamed my grandfather Buttercup and he would call me Sweet Pea. Buttercup loved everything about this place. He loved every season. He'd also be the first person to tell you that this property is not a Hilton. It's an oasis in the woods with dirt, sand, wildlife and memories to be made! He had quite the sense of humor.
Buttercup passed away in 2022 after a heroic cancer battle. Sharing Buttercup's Cabin is a way for us to keep his memory alive and keep the property in our family. Have fun, enjoy the tranquil nature around you, explore and find adventure here at Buttercup's. But, also, please respect Buttercup's and treat it with love, so we can continue renting this special place.
When is check-in and check -out?
Does the Cabin have AC?
Buttercup's does not have air conditioning at this time. Also, there is no heat on the second floor. However, the breeze off the water makes the house comfortable and there are portable fans in every bedroom closet. There are also extra blankets in the bedroom closets for chilly nights.
Can we use the kayaks?
Yes! There are life jackets in the storage bench on the back deck along with floaties and sand toys to borrow. The floating dock and trampoline are not ours. Please do not use them!
What do I do with our trash?
Thank you for keeping Buttercup's clean and tidy! Please put filled trash bags in the bins next to the driveway. If guests leave the house excessively dirty, dishes in the sink or dishwasher, etc they will be charged a cleaning fee. There is a broom and dustpan in the hall closet between the first floor bedrooms should you need it.
Do I need to bring my own linens, towels, etc?
Only if you'd like to! We supply bed linens, blankets, bathing towels, face cloths and some beach towels for your stay. There is also shampoo, conditioner and soap in each bathroom for you to use. We start your trip with a stock of toilet paper, paper towels, and dish detergent.
